Translated from the original Portuguese version at kapta.pt/politica-de-privacidade for your convenience. In case of any discrepancy, the Portuguese version prevails.
1. Introduction
ABSOLUTEPIXEL UNIPESSOAL, LDA (hereinafter Kapta) wants you to be familiar with how your data is collected, used and shared with third parties, since your privacy and its protection are central to maintaining a relationship of trust.
The Privacy Policy followed by Kapta complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), a European regulation (EU 2016/679) that sets out rules on the protection, processing and free movement of personal data of individuals in European Union countries. From 25 May 2018, this regulation replaced the previous Data Protection Law — Law no. 67/98 of 26 October.
This Policy describes the type of personal data collected, how it is used and with whom it is shared. It also describes Kapta's general practices for handling other information (for example, interests, demographic data and use of services) collected through monitoring and analytics tools. We also describe the measures we take to protect information, your choices and access options, and how to contact us about privacy practices.
All personal information collected will be used to help us make your visit to our website as productive and enjoyable as possible. Guaranteeing the confidentiality of our users' personal data is important to Kapta.
Use of the Kapta website implies acceptance of this privacy agreement. We may change this agreement without prior notice. We therefore recommend that you review our Privacy Policy regularly so that you are always up to date.

Kapta is committed to processing only the personal data strictly necessary to improve your experience of using our website.
3.1. Personal Data
Personal Data, for the purposes of this Privacy Policy, is information that identifies you as an individual or that relates to an identifiable individual.
3.1.1. Personal Data submitted by the user
We collect Personal Data when it is submitted directly through our website — for example, when you submit a job application via our dedicated careers page, or when you submit a general contact form. The personal data sent may include your name, address, telephone number, email, date of birth, country of residence, city/location, nationality, qualifications, professional experience, current professional situation, language proficiency level under the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, schools attended, courses attended, completion dates and grades obtained.
3.2. Other Information
Other information is any information that is not intended to reveal your specific identity, such as browser information, usage data, information collected through cookies and other technologies, demographic information, and geolocation data obtained with your consent, where required by applicable law.
3.3. Information collected automatically
Our website collects information through cookies and other monitoring technologies, whether first-party or third-party — for example, Google Analytics — to improve the effectiveness of the website's operation and to optimise and enhance the user experience. For more information about how we use cookies and tracking technologies, please refer to our Cookie Policy.
With respect to the privacy practices of third-party cookies and external monitoring tools, Kapta is not responsible for those third parties' privacy practices. To stay informed, we recommend you review the applicable third-party privacy policy.
4. How we use your personal data, other information and information collected automatically
Kapta guarantees that your personal data is processed only for the purposes communicated to you, and is not used for any other purpose. We therefore process your personal data to guarantee the quality of the service we provide and to be able to respond to your needs more effectively.
4.1. To measure and improve our products and services
All the personal information we collect will be used to help make your visit to our website as productive and enjoyable as possible, including: processing a job application; processing a contact request; measuring interactions with specific pages; providing customer support; and improving our website's interface so that navigation is intuitive and satisfactory.
4.2. To improve website content
To make your experience more interesting and personalised, we may use any of the Personal Data and Other Information collected so that the website's content reflects users' preferences — for example, through our blog, presenting posts with content relevant to visitors based on their browsing habits.
4.3. To contact you
On our website, you can interact with us in various ways: by email, contact form or job application. We may also use your information (including a telephone number and email you have provided for this purpose) to contact you, respond to your comments, queries or requests.
4.4. To secure your rights and those of Kapta
Under the data protection legislation in force in the European Union (the General Data Protection Regulation), the use of personal data must be justified under at least one legal basis for processing. You can review the scope of each of these grounds.
The legal basis applicable to collecting and using your personal data for customer support and marketing purposes is your consent.
Legal grounds for processing personal data
- Where you have given consent to the processing of your personal data (for these purposes you will be presented with a consent form for the use of your data; this consent may subsequently be withdrawn);
- Where the processing is necessary to enter into or perform a contract with you;
- Where the processing is necessary to comply with Kapta's legal obligations;
- Where the processing is necessary to achieve a legitimate interest and our reasons for the use prevail over your data-protection rights;
- Where the processing is necessary for us to bring, exercise or defend a right in legal proceedings against you, us or a third party.
5. How we keep your personal data secure
We use a variety of security measures, including encryption and authentication tools, to help protect and maintain the security, integrity and availability of your personal data.
Although data transmission over the internet or via the website cannot guarantee complete security against intrusions, we — together with our service providers and business partners — make our best efforts to implement and maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards designed to protect your personal data in line with applicable data-protection requirements. Among others, we have implemented:
- Restricted personal access to your data based on a "need to know" criterion and only within the scope of the communicated purposes;
- Transfer of collected data only in encrypted form;
- Storage of highly confidential data (such as credit-card information) only in encrypted form;
- Protection of information technology systems through firewalls to prevent unauthorised access to your personal data;
- Continuous monitoring of access to information technology systems to prevent, detect and stop misuse of your personal data.
6. How long we keep your personal data
We keep your data only for the period necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Once the maximum retention period has been reached, your personal data will be irreversibly anonymised (the anonymised data may be retained) or securely destroyed.
For the purposes described in this Privacy Policy (customer support), your personal data will be retained for a maximum of 5 years from the collection of your consent or from the last contact made (whichever occurs later), and provided that, within this period, you have not withdrawn your consent. In the case of marketing matters, your contact will be retained until you unsubscribe or otherwise indicate that you no longer wish to remain in contact.
7. How you can change or withdraw your consent
You may, at any time, change or withdraw your consent, with effect for the future.
Upon full withdrawal of your consent statements, you will no longer be contacted or receive communications for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Consent granted to Kapta can be withdrawn by calling (+351) 917 011 057 or by email at info@kapta.pt.
If you have any questions about our use of your personal data, please contact us first.
Subject to certain conditions, you may have the right to ask us to:
- Provide you with additional information about how we use your personal data;
- Provide you with a copy of the personal data you have provided to us;
- Transfer the personal data you have provided to us to another data controller at your request;
- Correct any inaccuracies in the personal data we hold about you;
- Delete personal data whose use is no longer legitimate;
- Restrict the way we use your personal data until a complaint you have lodged is investigated.
The exercise of these rights is subject to certain exceptions intended to safeguard the public interest (prevention or detection of crime) or our own interest (maintaining professional secrecy).
8. Data Retention Periods
Personal data will be retained only for the period necessary for the purposes that led to its collection or subsequent processing, with all applicable legal rules on archiving being observed.
